Antimicrobial in TORUS™ Water Bowls
All Torus bowls are now manufactured with IONPURE antimicrobial technology sourced from certified producers in Japan and is EPA, FDA and FIFRA approved.
The Science Behind Ionpure Ingredients
With the presence of moisture, IONPURE releases a few Ag ions gradually. The Ag ion’s have an ability to strongly bind to cellular enzymes of microbes and inhibit enzyme activity of cell wall, membrane, and nucleic acids. As microbes charged with minus on their surface, Ag ions that have plus are drawn toward microbes, and disturb their electric balance. so that microbes burst their cell walls and are extinguished.
As Ag ions are taken into microbes, they react and bond to the cellular enzyme microbes. This inhibits enzyme activity and multiplication of microbes, thus extinguishing the microbes.
Advanced TORUS™ Antimicrobial Filters
The unique TORUS™ Filters come in Standard and Advanced versions. Each use special ingredients to remove any impurities from water, to ensure your pet has access to clean, fresh water every time they drink.
Our TORUS™ Advanced Antimicrobial Filters include a stainless-steel perforated wall for more controlled release. The antimicrobial ingredients are Biosafe and are made in the USA. Biosafe contains FDA Compliant and NSF Certified antimicrobial technology that ensures a higher level of filtration.
The Science of Biosafe Ingredients
The COC-AL60 granular activated carbon used is manufactured from select grades and is commonly used for the purification of potable water, beverage manufacture, dialysis, aquarium water and a variety of food grade applications. COC-AL60 will effectively remove chlorine, chloramines, lead, TCE, PCE, THMs 1,2,3-Trichloropropane, phenols, pesticides, detergents, taste and odour, and more.
The ingredients of the TORUS™ Advanced Filters are made in the USA and are FDA Compliant and NSF Certified. The Antimicrobial is 5% aqueous solution of 3-(Trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride, Methanol-free the ingredients are approved for use as an antimicrobial active ingredient under EPA and FDA Regulations including surfaces that come in direct contact with finished food.
The Biosafe product protects products from microorganism colonization by physically rupturing the microbe’s cell membrane and destroying the microbes on contact and does not promote microbial resistance through adaption and mutation. The antimicrobial binds to a wide range of surfaces to render long-lasting protection, synergistically enhancing the effectiveness of disinfection and sanitization.
The Biosafe antimicrobial has been clinically tested in hospital settings where it showed that a single application helps keep high touch surfaces hygienically clean around-the-clock for up to five weeks when incorporated into standard cleaning protocol.
Biosafe has an excellent safety profile, is non-toxic, non-irritating, and does not show transdermal absorption.
